Yeah!!! Vacations is almost here! (I know that we still have a few weeks, but it's close enough!) So, in this little break from school, what can we do? I suggest GO TO THE MOVIES! There are a lot of great movies just waiting for us. I will name a few that I think that worth spend our money with.

1°- A national one. Qualquer Gato vira-lata. If you like comedies you might like this one! I recently watched and had so much fun! I recomend it!
2°- If you like fantasy and action you should watch X-Men: First Class. It's the best movie ever! If you already watched the other ones you will love this one that is far far the best!

3°- Still in the fantasy/action category you could watch Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The story continues with the funny Jack Sparrow and now, Penelope Cruz.
4°- If you like cartoons you have to watch Kung Fu Panda 2. The first one was hilarious, and so do the second!
Well, these are just some ideas, and there are tons of good movies out there soooo....
Let's have fun! And good vacations for us!

Optical Illusions

Humans have five senses: olfaction, tact, palate, listening and sight. Each one has its own importance, since they are present in the organs of our body that help us to understand and interact with the world around us.
It’s like a machine. Each sense plays its part and sends its information to the brain, where these information will be interpreted and processed.
The sight, especially, has its importance. “See” is a very important act, but the interesting is that, sometimes, the information that the eyes send to the brain can be not correct. They are called optical illusions, phenomenon that happen when the brain wrongly interpret the information sent to him.
“An optical illusion is characterized by visually perceived images that, at least in common sense terms, are deceptive or misleading. Therefore, the information gathered by the eye is processed by the brain to give, on the face of it, a percept that does not tally with a physical measurement of the stimulus source. A conventional assumption is that there are physiological illusions that occur naturally and cognitive illusions that can be demonstrated by specific visual tricks that say something more basic about how human perceptual systems work.”
Look to the place where a vertical line intercepts a horizontal one. If you stop looking into it, you’ll notice black circles where the lines meet each other. But, if you look to one dot directly, it’ll disappear.

Gear: Pay attention in the dot in the middle of the picture and move your head back and forth.

“Gira-gira”:Look fixedly to one of the black dots in the picture and see what happens with the circles around it.

The Kite Runner is a novel by Khaled Hosseini. Published in 2003 by Riverhead Books, it is Hosseini's first novel, and was adapted into a film of the same name in 2007.

The Kite Runner tells the story of Amir, a young boy from the Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul, who befriends Hassan, the son of his father's Hazara servant. The story is set against a backdrop of tumultuous events, from the fall of Afghanistan's monarchy through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the rise of the Taliban regime."It tells the story of an Afghan boy, Amir, who escapes the violent destruction of his homeland after the fall of the monarchy and comes to live with his father in the United States. But years later he must return to Afghanistan to come to terms with the ghosts that

haunt his past. "

The story takes place over three separate time periods in 1978, 1988, and 2000.

Amir, a well-to-do Pashtun boy, and Hassan, a Hazara who is the son of Ali, Amir's father's servant, spend their days in the then peaceful city of Kabul, kite fighting and roaming through the streets. Amir's father, a wealthy merchant, who Amir affectionately refers to as

Baba, loves both boys, but seems critical of Amir for not being manly enough. However, he has a kinder father figure in the form of Rahim Khan, Baba's friend, who understands Amir better, and supports his interest in writing. Amir tells us that his first word was 'Baba' and Hassan's 'Amir', suggesting that Amir looked up most to Baba, while Hassan looked up to Amir.

Assef, a notorious sociopath and violent older boy, mocks Amir for socializing with a Hazara, which is, according to Assef, an inferior race that should only live in Hazarajat.

Hassan is a successful "kite runner" for Amir, knowing where the kite will land without watching it. One triumphant day, Amir wins the local tournament, and finally Baba's praise. Hassan runs for the last cut kite, a great trophy, saying to Amir, "For you, a thousand times over." Unfortunately, Hassan encounters Assef....(important part of the book)

The Kite Runner is an exciting book and that makes people think about life, enjoy reading! \o/

A Clockwork Orange: a history to help you grow up

A Clockwork Orange is a book write by the English writer Antony Burguess at 1969. It’s a old book? No. The history it´s the most actual possible: it’s a future and violent London with a population really full and some revolts adolescents.
The book tells the Alex story. Alex is a revolt adolescent (14 years old) and he have a gung, (yours three droogs: Pete, George and Dim) to make all kinds of violence (and “ultraviolences”). He kills (by accident) an old woman and is sentenced to 14 prison years. After two prison years he’s “treated” (by “The Ludovico Technique”) to be a “good” guy.
Burguess make a new language in A Clockwork Orange:  “The Nadsat”, a language used to all “nadsats” (teenagers) of book, with different “slovos” (words) and slangs. Fallowing, a part of a dialogue of the two doctors of Alex, about the language used to him:
““Quaint,” said Dr. Brodsky, like smiling, “the dialect of the tribe. Do you know anything of it’s provenance, Branom?”
“Odd bits of old rhyming slang,” said Dr. Branom, who did not look quite so much like a friend any more. “A bit of gipsy talk, too. But most of the roots are Slav. Propaganda. “Subliminal penetration.””
The principal reasons to A Clockwork Orange be my favorite book it’s the various debates about the right and the wrong, the good and the bad, the religion, how the society age, the claim of choices, and others polemics and important themes that help us to make opinion and grow up like   conscious citizens.
In 1971 Stanley Kubrick make a movie based in this book. It’s really good to, but it’s really better ready the book before the movie, so, you understand (real horrorshow) the real meaning of the Alex story, what is frequently confused with a history of blood, without any philosophical character.

Open your mind and go inside in A Clockwork Orange.

“And all that cal” .
